My Story
As a child, I was always fascinated by the art of taking photos and videos. I noticed how taking photos and videos was a great way to preserve memories. During nearly every family vacation, I was either recording every step of the journey on my dad’s old Sony Camcorder or taking photos on my dad’s Nikon D5100.
I also loved memorabilia. I valued keeping used notebooks, past school worksheets and test scores, used textbooks, old art projects, and just about everything from my childhood.
Fast-forward to the beginning of my high school journey in 2023. I met a wonderful, experienced photographer at my school. He saw my obsessive interest in photography and assigned me the biggest favor I have ever received before: to take photos for an upcoming Halloween event at Uplift Infinity Preparatory. I was hesitant to take the offer but reluctantly accepted. On the day of the event, anxiety took over, and I worried I might drop my camera or take bad photos and let my mentor down. I prayed to God and hoped that everything would be all right. After the event, my mentor went through my photos and was astonished at how well the photos turned out. He motivated me to continue pursuing photography, and so I did.
